As the end of 2019 nears, and we stand at the doorstep of 2020, a bit of reflection is evident. However, as it is 2020 that we are entering, for BBE this is an extra meaningful year end, as in the year 2014 the report “Bonaire 202020” was published, which laid the foundation on how the different stakeholders were to cooperate to have realized a more prosperous Bonaire by the year 2020. Many governmental changes later, now that 2020 is almost here, we are happy to conclude that the direction that was chosen more than 6 years ago, is still more or less the same. We are less happy to have to conclude that the steps that we had wanted to realize have not yet materialized. However, the current movement in our society leaves us extremely hopeful for the near future. We wouldn’t be proper representatives of the entrepreneurs on Bonaire if we didn’t realize that some developments have overtaken what has been written and stated in “Bonaire 202020”, however we still believe that a lot of it is still a great basis for discussions and actions for the economic development of Bonaire. We are therefore re-sharing the link to this report with you, in case you were looking for some inspiration for your reflections under the Christmas tree over the next few weeks,
